La Cooperativa de Caficultores del Alto Occidente de Caldas (CoopAlto Occidente) is a cooperative whose goal is to efficiently distribute goods and services to satisfy the needs of its members and the larger community.
CoopAlto Occidente’s mission is to achieve the efficient marketing of coffee, based on regulation of price and quality, and by providing free services to improve the quality of life of coffee farmers, their families, and the community. This is achieved through democratic, participatory and formative integration of its coffee farmers
CoopAlto Occidente currently has 2,697 cooperative members located in 171 subdivisions in the municipalities of Riosucio, Supia, Marmato, and Quinchía, located in the Caldas and Risaralda departments. The staff is comprised of 50 employees who are dedicated to providing appropriate services to each member.
98% of our members are smallholder farmers, meaning that the entire family is involved in coffee production. As a result of their hard work, our members have managed to position our specialty coffee in both the national and international market, due to its quality and sensory attributes.
