Her storySu historia

Achievements

I am proud to be the daughter of a farmer and coffee grower, who gave me my first lessons in growing coffee and in everything I have learned from this generous crop. I love life in the countryside.

I feel satisfaction in being part of the development of many Indigenous Lenca families, whom we have been able to support through COMIPRONIL. We currently work with 200 families.

Logros

Challenges

Many times farming becomes difficult because of a lack of access to financial resources that would allow the work to be done properly, not halfway. […] There is no doubt that education in crop management is also important, but it does little or no good if you are working from scarcity. […] In short, what makes farming difficult is that it isn’t profitable.

Her experience as a woman farmer

My story with coffee comes from family roots, as the daughter of producers. In 1998, encouraged by my father, I planted my first plot of one manzana in the community of Segua, San Miguelito. […] Coffee brings families together and strengthens our life together, besides generating the income that supports our homes. […] Today it fills me with deep satisfaction to see my three children become hardworking, independent men with business vision and a great entrepreneurial spirit.
