“I grew up among coffee fields, and today I show that women can also lead, build businesses, and produce coffee of excellence.”

For those who drink her coffee · Para quien bebe su café

“I would like them to know where the coffee comes from and where it is grown, how it is harvested, the altitude it is planted at, the variety, and the kind of processing it was given.”

Achievements

I am proud to carry on the knowledge of coffee from the generations before me, and not to lose this tradition my grandparents and my father instilled in us in growing coffee. The coffee is called Don Víctor in honor of my father. He, together with my grandfather, devoted himself to growing coffee.

Logros

Challenges

The experience has been very beautiful, but it has come with challenges. Today there is climate change, and also being a woman with other roles: I am a mother, and I also work. The hardest challenge has been climate change; year after year it affects us. Since we are in a high-altitude zone, the harvest used to come later, and today the coffee is ripening earlier.

Quality and cupping

Besides being a producer, in my work I have been learning about coffee quality. I work in quality control and cupping; I am certified by IHCAFE as a Five-Star Cupper of Honduras, and I also hold the international Curated certification.

It’s the passion for coffee, and for helping other producers come to know quality, too.
